Arizona tax law provides a dollar for dollar tax credit up to $400 for those who are married and file jointly or a dollar for dollar tax credit up to $200 for all other tax payers who contribute to charitable organizations, like Boys Hope Girls Hope, that provide assistance to the working poor.

  1. Donating up to $400 (married filing jointly) or up $200 (all other tax payers) to Boys Hope Girls Hope of Arizona by December 31, 2008.

    The charitable tax credit is in addition to any educational tax credit you may be eligible for because of your support for Arizona’s public or private schools.
  2. Reporting your donation on your 2008 Arizona State Income Tax Return.

    • Your state tax refund will be increased by the amount contributed if you are owed a tax refund or if you owe the state additional taxes, the amount owed will be reduced by the contribution amount.
    • In addition, your donation to Boys Hope Girls Hope may also be claimed as a deduction on your Federal income tax return.

More importantly, your donation will give the gift of hope and a quality education to low income youth from limited educational, economic and social backgrounds.


* Boys Hope Girls Hope of Arizona will mail you the tax credit forms needed to file with your Arizona tax return. Contributions to BHGH qualify as a tax credit for the working poor. It is always best to consult a professional tax advisor if you have any questions.
